This cottage with the flowers and wee sheep was so much fun! It reminds me of trips to Scotland. I thoroughly enjoyed this pattern, and had fun adjusting some of the floral colors.
The Little Sheep Farm beginner kit is so charming and cozy! I saved the sheep for last with their little French knot woolly coats. Just precious!

I was attracted to this company by an ad that showed the design already printed on the fabric. That, to me, would be 'beginner friendly.' Turns out, with this kit, you have to trace the design of the entire sheep farm onto the fabric yourself. The end result depends entirely on the steadiness of your own hand and your ability to see details through a piece of white fabric. Additionally, it is difficult for the human hand to draw perfect circles, which are a part of this design. If the design doesn't start out good, the embroidery work will reflect that. I was also extremely disappointed that there were no written instructions included. The videos are helpful, but when you pick back up after not working on the project for awhile, you have to try to figure in the video series where you were. At the time of my purchase, I also bought a kit for a friend who lives out in the country with no internet. Therefore she received no instructions whatsoever in this so-called 'beginner' kit. You've put so much work into trying to make this a nice kit, I don't understand why you would leave out an instruction sheet.
Hi Karen, thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. Tracing can definitely take a little practice, but once you’ve done it a couple of times, it becomes much easier. Julie walks you through the entire process step by step in the video tutorials to make it nice and easy to follow. We love using this method because the pen marks disappear once you’ve finished stitching, leaving your embroidery with a clean, polished finish. Plus, you can reuse the template for future projects if you’d like.
As for the written instructions, each kit also comes with access to a downloadable PDF stitch guide. Once you scan the QR code and access the video tutorial, you’ll see a button to download the PDF. The guide includes a summary of the stitches, number of strands, stitch techniques, colors, and floss used throughout each part of the pattern, so you can easily refer back to it as you stitch.
For your friend who doesn’t have internet access, we also have PDF guides for the different stitch techniques that we’d be happy to send through. If this is something she needs, just reach out to us at help@cleverpoppy.com, and we’ll be happy to help.

This was such a fun project to stitch! The different textures kept it interesting, especially creating the fluffy sheep with French knots. The instructions and video tutorials were easy to follow, making it suitable for beginners while still teaching new techniques. Everything included was high quality, and the finished piece looks so much more impressive than I expected. I enjoyed it so much that it's now hanging proudly in my home.
As always the CP beginners kit came with everything I needed from start to finnish which is what drew me to CP in the first place .

The Clever Poppy kits are the best I've experienced in the 1.5 years that I've been doing embroidery. Not only are they beautiful and simple for beginners, they are packaged with such care and thought. The video tutorials are so awesome, and the ladies are so sweet and friendly. I was so intimidated by having to trace a pattern, and this was my first kit to try it. It was SO EASY!! I'm so, so happy that I tried out Clever Poppy's kits...I actually ordered 5 more 😆. My sister and I own our own small business in the craft niche, and I truly appreciate each detail that Julie and her team has put into these kits.

Just received my first kit from Clever Poppy and I am very impressed! Started working on it and the videos are clear & very helpful. A little bonus is that I love listening to the Australian accents from that beautiful country..
The kit came with everything I could possibly use, although I already had some of the items since I’m not brand new to embroidery. One suggestion I would make that is not part of the video tutorial is to mention needle threads are a handy thing to use, especially for those of us that are older and have eyesight challenges, so to speak. 😉
But I’m really happy with my purchase and will definitely buy more kits from Clever Poppy!
